- Place steering wheel in straight-ahead position.
- Ensure ignition switch is in Off position.
- Connect passenger's air bag two-pin connector, then install glove box assembly.
- Connect driver's air bag two-pin connector at steering column base.

- Using tool No. J-33939 or equivalent hold clutch plate, then remove clutch assembly to shaft center bolt, Fig. .
- Using puller tool No. J-33944-A and forcing screw tool No. J-33944-4 or suitable equivalents, remove driveplate Fig. .
- Remove adjusting shims Fig. .
- Using snap ring pliers, remove snap ring.
- Remove pulley using a suitable puller, Fig. .
- Disconnect field coil lead wire, then remove field coil.
