DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 1994 Nissan Quest AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 1994 Nissan Quest cars and light trucks from 1990+.
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 1994 Nissan Quest GXE 3.0 V6 GAS
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheels and tires.
- Remove wheel bearing lock nut.
- Brake caliper need not be disconnected. Do not twist or stretch brake hose when moving components.
- Remove cotter pin and nut securing lower ball joint to knuckle.
- Strike knuckle with a hammer and pull down transverse link to separate lower ball joint from knuckle.
- Remove tie-rod ball joint.
- Separate drive shaft from knuckle by slightly tapping it. If it is hard to remove, use a puller. When removing drive shaft, cover boots with shop towel to prevent damage to them.
