Both warning light and LED remain on unless the ignition is turned off. Only one trouble code is displayed at a time. If multiple problems occur, only the first problem detected is displayed, that problem must be repaired first in order to check for further trouble codes. - Remove master cylinder from vehicle.
- Remove secondary piston stopper screw with screwdriver as shown in Fig. .
- Push piston inward, then remove snap ring.
- Apply pressure to piston assembly while Inserting a small screwdriver into window of piston retainer and raise piston retainer latch as shown in Fig. .
- Remove primary and secondary piston assemblies. Do not disassemble pistons. if disassembled, the spring settings will change.
- Inspect master cylinder inside diameter to piston clearance, Service limit is not to exceed 0.043 inch.

The brake booster is located inline between the master cylinder and the brake pedal. It serves to mechanically boost the force pushing the pistons of the master cylinder.
The brake booster consists of a power cylinder section and a power piston section. The power cylinder is made up of a front shell, rear shell and a diaphragm. The front and rear shells are connected with the diaphragm placed in between the two. - Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove front wheels.
- On Loyale models, remove outer parking brake cable clip and disconnect cable.
- On Legacy Turbo and SVX models, disconnect brake hose from strut.
- On all except Justy with 12 inch wheels, remove caliper lockpin, then rotate caliper on guide pin.
- On Justy with 12 inch wheels, remove caliper-to-support retaining bolts, then the boot protector and caliper.
