The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) consists of a control unit, hydraulic unit, speed sensors and wiring harness, Fig. , Each speed sensor has a gear wheel which runs past the permanently magnetized edge of the speed sensor installed in the wheel hub. Front
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove front tire and wheel.
- Drain moderate amount of brake fluid from reservoir using suitable syringe.
- Disconnect caliper brake hose.
- Remove caliper bolts and disconnect brake pad wear sensor electrical connector.
- Remove caliper toward rear.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Tighten mounting bolts to specifications.
- Bleed brake system.
- Ensure brake pad wear sensor wire does not contact rotor or wheel.

Ensure traction control systems are turned Off prior to bleeding brake system.
- Connect suitable pressure bleeder to brake fluid reservoir. Maximum charging pressure is 43.5 psi.
- Attach bleeder hose and container to righthand rear wheel. Bleed until no bubbles appear.
- Repeat previous step for lefthand rear, righthand front and lefthand front wheels.
- Support rear suspension at wheel carriers and lower car so rear suspension compresses to its normal loaded position (to prevent damage to output shaft joints). Wheel...
