- With ignition switch in Off position, disconnect coolant temperature sensor connector.
- Measure resistance between sensor terminals.

If battery cable has been disconnected, the PCM must relearn a new operating strategy. Connect battery cable and run engine until operating temperature is reached. After engine warm-up, drive vehicle under various operating conditions until PCM has relearned new strategy.
