- Raise and support vehicle, then remove master cylinder cap.
- Disconnect speed sensor connector.
- Remove lower caliper mounting pin/bolt.
- Pivot caliper upwards, then remove pad retainers and inner and outer shims, Fig. .

Do not spill brake fluid on painted surfaces, it may cause damage to the paint. If brake fluid is spilled, wash immediately with water.
- Place container under master cylinder to avoid spillage, then fill master cylinder with brake fluid.
- Connect hose to bleeder valves, then depress brake pedal several times.
- With pressure applied to pedal open bleeder valve to release air trapped in system.
- Close bleeder, then release pedal slowly.

Removal
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheels.
- Remove caliper without disconnecting brake hose as outlined under "Caliper Service."
- Tap rotor with a suitable soft face driver to free it from hub.
- Remove rotor from vehicle.
Inspection
Surface
Check rotor for roughness, cracks or chips.
Runout
- Secure rotor to wheel hub with two wheel lug nuts.
- Check runout using a suitable dial indicator.
- Refer to "Disc Brake Specifications" for maximum runout allowance.
Thickness
