Before adding or replacing engine coolant, ensure product compatibility with the system being serviced. If using orange silicate-free coolant, do not mix with green silicated coolant, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, engine coolant will require change sooner at 30,000 miles or 24 months.

- Holding clutch plate with a suitable spanner wrench, Figs. and , remove clutch hub retaining nut or bolt, Figs. and .
- On models where clutch plate is retained with a nut, remove clutch hub and shims from compressor shaft using hub remover tool No. T80L-19703-B, or equivalent, Fig. .
- On models where clutch plate is retained by a bolt, lift assembly and shims from compressor. If necessary, thread a suitable bolt into clutch plate hub to break hub free of shaft, Fig. . ...

Disconnect negative battery cable for a minimum of five minutes. After clearing memory, it is required to drive vehicle a minimum of 10 miles to allow PCM time to relearn operating strategy.

- Prior to removing old PCM, connect a suitably programmed scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).

Aspire
The cooling fan system consists of an electro-mechanical fan, a temperature switch and a temperature relay.
The temperature switch, which is located in the thermostat housing, senses engine coolant temperature; while the relay, which is located in the lefthand front corner of the engine compartment between the battery and the headlamp, provides the ground path to complete the circuit.
