Using ABS Warning Lamp
Refer to Figs. through for ABS warning lamp diagnostic procedures.
Using Multi-Use Tester (MUT)
- With ignition switch in Off position, connect MUT through adapter harness, then turn ignition switch to On position and select ABS. In MUT mode, ABS does not function.
- The ABS warning lamp should light when in MUT mode. If access is not possible, check ECU power circuit and harness between ECU and diagnosis check terminal.
- Read and record diagnostic trouble code output...

- Disconnect brake fluid sensor electrical connector from master cylinder reservoir.
- Position a drain pan under master cylinder.
- On models with separately mounted reservoir, disconnect reservoir hoses from the master cylinder.
- On all models, disconnect brake lines from the master cylinder. Plug all lines and fittings.
- Remove master cylinder to brake booster attaching nuts.
- Pull master cylinder outward and away from brake booster.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
