- If piston assembly is stuck in cylinder bore, gradually apply air to fluid outlet port.
- Replace stopper cap if claws are damaged. Bend claw inward when installing new stopper.

Accessing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
When a problem occurs in the ABS system, a warning light will flash on the instrument panel. To activate ABS self-diagnosis, ground the self diagnosis (check) terminal located on the data link connector. Refer to Figs. through for self-diagnostic procedures. - Prior to adjustment, check the following:
- On models with rear disc brakes, ensure toggle lever returns to stopper when parking brake lever is released, Fig. .
- On all models, ensure there is no drag when parking brake lever is released.
- Release parking brake lever and loosen adjusting nut.
- Start engine and depress brake pedal fully at least 10 times with engine running.
- Pull parking brake control lever 4-5 notches, then adjust control lever by turning adjusting nut, Fig. .

- Raise and support front of vehicle and remove wheel.
- Remove brake hose lock spring if necessary and lower pin bolt Figs. through , then pivot caliper body upwards.
- Remove pad retainers, inner and outer shims and the pads.
- Install new inner pad and pivot caliper downward.
- Compress piston(s) by inserting bar through caliper opening and prying against torque member.
- Pivot caliper upwards, then install outer pad, inner and outer shims and pad retainers.
- Position caliper body and install lower pin.
