- Remove glove compartment as follows:
- Open glove compartment, then remove damper screw and damper from glove compartment.
- Remove screw, then the glove compartment.
- Remove four glove compartment frame bolts, then the glove compartment.
- On models less A/C, remove wire harness clips from heater duct, then the heater duct self-tapping screws and duct.
- On models equipped with A/C, remove evaporator as outlined under "Evaporator, Replace."

Mode Control Motor
2.2CL & 2.5TL
- Connect battery power to No. 1 terminal of mode control motor and connect ground to No. 7 terminal, Fig. .
- Use a jumper wire and connect the No. 7 terminal to the No. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 terminals. The motor should run smooth and stop after each connection.
- If motor does not run after terminal connections are made, check mode control linkage and doors for smooth operation. Replace motor if no other problems are found...
