  • Reference mark relationship of propeller shaft to front axle and transfer case flange.
  • Remove bolts and retainers from front axle.
  • Remove bolts and retainers from transfer case.
  • Remove propeller shaft. When removing propeller shaft, do not attempt to remove shaft by pounding on yoke ears or using a tool between yoke and universal joint. If propeller shaft is removed by using such means, injection joints may fracture and lead to premature failure of joint.
