- Remove console righthand side panel and lower trim panels.
- Remove glove compartment.
- Remove footwell outlet vent from A/C housing.
- Turn on ignition and position righthand control knob to DEF, then, when servo has reached its full heat position, switch off ignition and disconnect battery ground cable.
- Disconnect linkage rods from servo lever connections.
- Set link bolt adjuster in its mid position.
- Gently pull wire link to detach it from grommet in link.

- Set righthand control at DEFROST.
- Close outlets at either end of dash.
- Start engine and run for 7 minutes at 1500 RPM.
- During running period, check that center dash outlet is closed and satisfactorily sealed, then check for sufficient air flow from screen outlets.
