- Set temperature control switch to Max COLD, and mode selector switch to defroster position.
- Disconnect both temperature control cable and mode selector cable from heater unit.
- Remove center panel.
- Disconnect harness connectors.
- Remove all attaching fasteners, then the control assembly.
- Reverse procedure to install. Do not attempt to move links during installation.

Wrap metal parts with a cloth or rubber material. Rubber boot may be damaged due to interference with adjacent metal parts during removal.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
