- Turn ignition switch to Off position, then raise and support vehicle.
- Clean area around brake fluid reservoir cap, then remove cap.
- Connect bleeding unit to brake fluid reservoir. Follow manufacturer's instruction for connecting and operating bleeding unit.
- Depress brake pedal several times to remove any air bubbles from clutch master cylinder.
- Remove dust cap from bleed nipple on one of the rear wheels and connect hose from overflow bottle.
- Open bleed nipple, then close and tighten nipple when no further air bubbles can be seen in fluid flowing out. Remove hose a...

- Loosen parking brake cable adjusting screw. Refer to " Parking Brake Adjustment."
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove rear wheels.
- Remove caliper.
- Remove brake disc, then remove brake shoe springs, brake shoes and adjuster, if applicable. On some models, it may be necessary to work through holes in axle shaft flange to gain access to springs.
- Before assembly, apply a thin layer of heat resistant graphite grease, or equivalent, on brake shoe sliding surface.

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel.
- Clean caliper, then remove dust cap from bleed nipple and open nipple.
- Lock brake pedal in its lowest position using a pedal jack. Collect any brake fluid spillage.
- Loosen brake hose 1/2 turn, then remove brake pads as previously described.
- Disconnect caliper from brake hose, then drain remaining brake fluid.
- Place a wooden block in front of piston, then blow out piston using compressed air.
- Remove dust boot, then the sealing ring using a weatherstrip tool.
- Remove rubber sleeves and bleed nipple.
