Removal
- Siphon 2/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder reservoir.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assemblies.
- Remove caliper retainer, screw and spring.
- Bottom caliper pistons in bore by inserting suitable screwdrivers between inboard shoe and each piston and pry pistons back into bore or by using suitable large C-clamp.
- Remove inner and outer brake pads, then disconnect brake hose.
- Remove brake caliper.
Inspection

When performing the following procedures, refer to Figs. and noting that the composite reservoir may vary in design.
Disassemble
- Remove master cylinder from vehicle.
- Remove reservoir cover and diaphragm. Discard old brake fluid in reservoir.
- Inspect cover and diaphragm. Replace if cut, cracked or deformed.
