Replacement
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove rear wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove two caliper assembly to adapter guide pin bolts.
- Remove caliper from adapter as follows:
- Rotate top of caliper away from adapter.
- Lift caliper off bottom abutment on adapter.
- Support caliper assembly from rear strut to prevent flexible brake hose damage.
- Remove rear rotor from hub by pulling it straight off wheel mounting studs.
Overhaul
- Remove caliper from rotor as described under "Brake Pad Service."

Brake System Bleed
The TEVES Mark 20 anti-lock brake system must be bled as two independent braking systems. The non ABS portion of the brake system should be bled the same as any non ABS system. The ABS portion of the system requires the use of a DRB, or equivalent, scan tool.
- To bleed the non ABS portion of the system, refer to " Hydraulic Brakes".
- To bleed the ABS portion of the system, connect DRB scan tool to vehicle diagnostics connector, located under the lefthand side of instrument panel.
- Set can tool to "Bleed ABS" routine.
- Apply brake pedal firmly and initiate the "Bleed ABS" cycl...

When working on or around brake assemblies, care must be taken to prevent breathing asbestos dust. During routine service operations, the amount of asbestos dust from brake lining wear is at a low level due to a chemical breakdown during use. A few precautions will minimize exposure.
Do not sand or grind brake linings unless suitable exhaust ventilation equipment is used to prevent excessive asbestos exposure.
