The single piston, floating caliper disc brake assembly, Fig. , consists of the rotor, caliper, pads and the driving hub. The caliper is mounted through bushings and sleeves by two through-bolts threaded into an adapter. Two machined abutments on the adapter position and align the caliper fore and aft. The mounting bolts and bushings control the movement of the caliper and the piston seal to assist in maintaining proper pad clearance.

When disassembling the master cylinder, note the position of all parts as they are removed for proper installation.
When disassembled, wash all parts in denatured alcohol or clean brake fluid only. Use an air hose to blow out all passages, orifices and valve holes. Air dry and place parts on clean paper or lint-free cloth.
