- Remove coolant reservoir. Do not disconnect hose.
- Remove mounting bolts and radiator upper mount brackets.
- Remove mounting bolts, then disconnect discharge and condenser lines. Plug lines.
- Remove mounting bolts, upper mounting brackets and condenser. Do not damage radiator and condenser fins during removal.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

- Remove center nut, Fig. , while holding armature plate with holding tool No. J37872, Fig. , or equivalent.
- Remove armature plate by pulling upward.
- Remove inner snap ring with suitable snap ring pliers.
- Remove rotor pulley with suitable two or three jaw puller.
- Ensure claws of puller are engaged on back of rotor pulley, not on belt area, or rotor pulley damage may occur.
- Remove field coil and wires.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
