This condition may be caused by low fluid level, a hydraulic fluid leak, the opening of a hydraulic line or replacement of a hydraulic system component. Symptoms include a loss of basic brake operation and/or a low or spongy brake pedal.

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel.
- Disengage strut brake hose clips, then disconnect brake hose.
- Remove lockpins, then the caliper assembly.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Replace pin boots.
- Install guide and lockpin so identification mark on pin matches mark on caliper body.
- Bleed brake system as outlined under "Brake System Bleed."
