Audio Coded Anti-Theft System
Some models are equipped with an audio coded anti-theft system that will disable the radio when the battery cable is disconnected. The system can be identified by the "ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM" on the cassette tape lid. Obtain 3 digit customer code for input. Reset system after service as follows:

- Fill reservoir with fluid.
- Disconnect tubes from master cylinder. Then slowly depress brake pedal and hold.
- Block off outlet holes with fingers, and release pedal. Repeat three or four times.

- Remove front wheel and reinstall lug nuts to locate disc temporarily.
- Remove caliper from torque plate and suspend so brake hose is not under tension. Do not disconnect brake hose.
- Refer to Figs. through and remove the following components:
- Brake pads.
- Anti-squeal shims.
- Pad wear indicator plates.
- Support plates.
- Anti-squeal springs.
- Install new pad support plates.
- Install new pad wear indicator plates on each pad with arrow pointing in direction of disc rotation.
- Install new anti-squeal shims on each pad.

- Raise and support vehicle and remove front wheel.
- Remove union bolt and disconnect brake hose. Use suitable container to catch brake fluid.
- Remove caliper, Figs. through .
- Remove anti-squeal shims and brake pad wear indicator plates.
- Remove support plates.
- Reverse procedure to install.
Overhaul
- Remove caliper.
- Remove the following parts:
- Caliper slide bushings.
- Dust boots.
- Collars.

- Fill reservoir.
- Disconnect master cylinder tubes.
- Slowly depress brake pedal and hold.
- Block outlet holes with fingers and release pedal.
- Repeat 3-4 times.
Brake Lines
Bleed wheel with longest brake line first, then work your way back to the master cylinder according to brake line length.
- Connect brake cylinder tube.
- Depress pedal several times and hold.
- Loosen bleeder plug.
- When fluid stops coming out, tighten bleeder plug and release pedal.
- Repeat several times.
- Repeat entire procedure for each wheel.
- Fill reservoir.
