If battery cable has been disconnected, the PCM must relearn a new operating strategy. Connect battery cable and run engine until operating temperature is reached. After engine warm-up, drive vehicle under various operating conditions until PCM has relearned new strategy.

Using Scan Tool
Connect a Diagnostic Readout Box (DRB) or equivalent scan tool to the vehicle's Data Link Connector (DLC). The DLC is located under the lefthand side of the instrument panel, right of the steering column. After connecting the scan tool, follow scan tool instructions.
