- Remove rear disc brake caliper assembly, as outlined under "Caliper Service," from adapter and rotor.
- Remove rear rotor from hub, then dust cap.
- Remove cotter pin, nut retainer, wave washer and rear hub/bearing assembly retaining nut and washer from rear spindle.
- Remove rear hub and bearing assembly from rear spindle.
- Turn brake shoe adjuster wheel until adjuster is at shortest length.

Replacement
- Remove caliper from brake rotor and brake pads from caliper as outlined in "Brake Pad Service."
- Disconnect brake hose at brake caliper, then cap brake line.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Remove caliper assembly as outlined under "Brake Pad, Service."
- Place a wood block between caliper piston and caliper fingers. With brake hose attached to caliper, carefully depress brake pedal to push piston out of caliper bore. Prop brake pedal to any position below first inch of brake pedal travel to prevent brake fluid loss.
