- Remove heater core as previously outlined.
- Disassemble valve block.
- Disconnect vacuum actuator lines.
- Remove clips and disconnect blower box from air distributor box.
- Remove mounting screw and gasket, Fig. .
- Remove distributor box upper section.
- Remove evaporator.
- Remove mounting bolts and expansion valve.
- Reverse procedure to install. Torque expansion valve mounting bolts to 71 inch lbs.

Fuel System Pressure Relief
Do not smoke or allow an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel system related components. The highly flammable vapor mixtures may ignite, resulting in serious personal injury.
Prior to disconnecting fuel lines, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental fuel spray.

- Remove lefthand crossbrace with reinforcing plate, Fig. .
- Remove complete exhaust system, exhaust shield and tunnel closing panel.
- Disconnect reinforcement bridge.
- Loosen slide connection clamp.
- Remove mounting bolt and nuts, then disconnect front driveshaft from transmission. Flexible disc remains with driveshaft.
- Remove mounting bolts and nuts, then disconnect rear driveshaft from differential carrier. Flexible disc remains with driveshaft.
