When working on any hydraulic brake components it is extremely important to keep the work area clean. Clean any parts that are to be reused with new brake fluid or a cleaning fluid specifically designed for hydraulic components. Wipe all parts dry using clean lint-free paper or cloth. Gaskets, seals, O-rings and rubber components should not be reused. Prior to assembly, all components should be generously lubricated with clean brake fluid.

When the brake pedal is depressed, pedal pressure assisted by power from the servo unit pushes the input rod into the master cylinder. The input rod pushes the primary plunger up the bore which closes the cutoff port to the fluid reservoir. This creates pressure ahead of the primary plunger. This pressure also acts on the secondary plunger, pushing it up the bore and closing the cutoff port from the secondary chamber. - Raise rear seat, then pry adjusting device apart.
- Insert a .08 inch feeler gauge between parking brake lever and stop on brake caliper.
- Screw locknut against adjusting sleeve until feeler gauge drops out.
- Apply and release parking brake lever a few times to settle adjusting device.
- Ensure clearance between lever and stop is .02-.08 inch.
- Lower rear seat.
