The electric cooling fan is mounted behind the radiator assembly and is thermostatically controlled. When engine coolant temperature has reached about 92°C (198°F), the temperature switch will close its contacts, allowing the electric cooling fan to operate. On models with A/C, the circuit is equipped with a crimped branch connection, because fan operation is also controlled by A/C operation. When engine coolant temperature decreases, the temperature switch opens its contacts, de-energizing the electric cooling fan.

  • Insert a .08 inch feeler gauge between parking brake lever and stop on brake caliper.
  • Screw locknut against adjusting sleeve until feeler gauge drops out.
  • Apply and release parking brake lever a few times to settle adjusting device.
  • Ensure clearance between lever and stop is .02-.08 inch.
