The electric cooling fan is mounted behind the radiator assembly and is thermostatically controlled. When engine coolant temperature has reached about 92°C (198°F), the temperature switch will close its contacts, allowing the electric cooling fan to operate. On models with A/C, the circuit is equipped with a crimped branch connection, because fan operation is also controlled by A/C operation. When engine coolant temperature decreases, the temperature switch opens its contacts, de-energizing the electric cooling fan.

- Raise rear seat, then pry adjusting device apart.
- Insert a .08 inch feeler gauge between parking brake lever and stop on brake caliper.
- Screw locknut against adjusting sleeve until feeler gauge drops out.
- Apply and release parking brake lever a few times to settle adjusting device.
- Ensure clearance between lever and stop is .02-.08 inch.
- Lower rear seat.

- Loosen the lug nuts.
- Raise and support vehicle with jack stands, then remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Prior to dismounting the tire from the wheel, note the following precautions:
- Do not apply tire changer tool within 10° of either side of the tire pressure sensor valve stem, Fig. .
- Start in area 180° from the tire pressure sensor valve stem.
- Remove the rear side tire bead first.
- Deflate the tire completely.
- Use a suitable tire changer to remove the tire from the wheel. A rim clamp European type tire changer is recommended.
