Vehicle: 1999 Toyota Solara 2.2 L4 GAS
Front
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
- Remove front fender apron seal
- Remove drain plug and drain transaxle oil into suitable container.
- Remove brake caliper and support with wire, then the rotor, Fig. .
- Place a dial indicator near center of axle hub and check backlash in bearing shaft direction, Fig. . If backlash is greater than .002 inch, replace bearing.
- Place a dial indicator at surface of axle hub outside hub bolt and check hub runout, Fig. . If runout is greater than .002 inch, replace axle hub.
