Audio Coded Anti-Theft System
Some models are equipped with an audio coded anti-theft system that will disable the system when battery power is interrupted. Unless the system is reset the radio will not operate.
- Turn radio to On position; "SAFE" should be displayed.

Refer to "Hydraulic Brake Systems" for bleeding procedure.
Component Replacement
Bosch 5.3, ITT Mark 20 and Teves model 20 ABS control modules are coded to the vehicle. Replacement control modules must be coded after installation. Refer to "Coding Control Module" for procedures.
Prior to servicing the ABS system, always turn the ignition off.
The ABS control unit must never be exposed to temperatures greater than 185°F for more than two hours, or 203°F for even short time periods. The ABS control unit must be unplugged if an electric welder is to be used on the vehicle.

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel lug nuts.
