- Ensure front wheels are pointed in straight-ahead position.
- Remove transaxle range selector lever hex retaining screw.
- Remove instrument panel lefthand and righthand end covers, Figs. through .
- Using trim stick tool No. C-4755, or equivalent, pry up on shifter bezel, disconnect all electrical connectors, then remove bezel.
- Remove two screws from lower instrument panel cover (outside end).
- Disconnect luggage compartment release switch electrical connector.

- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- On models equipped with 3.2L and 3.5L engines, remove engine air inlet tube and air distribution duct.
- On all models, using quick connector tool No. 7193, or equivalent, remove both A/C lines from expansion valve.
- Remove expansion valve mounting bolts, then the valve and gasket.
- Reverse procedure to install. Torque mounting bolts to 100 inch lbs.

- Remove air inlet resonator, then drain coolant into a suitable container.
- Remove upper radiator crossover.
- Remove hose clamps and hoses from radiator.
- Disconnect engine block heater electrical wire, if equipped.
- Disconnect and plug automatic transaxle hoses at cooler.
- Disconnect fan electrical connector.
- Remove A/C condenser attaching screws located at front of radiator, if equipped.
- Remove radiator from engine compartment by lifting upward.
- Reverse procedure to install.
