Never clamp driveline tubing in a vise. Clamping driveline tubing in a vise may dent or deform the driveline resulting in an imbalance or unsafe condition. Always clamp on one of the yokes and support shaft horizontally. Avoid damaging the slip yoke sealing surface. Nicks may damage bushing or cut the lip seal.
- Place driveshaft on suitable workbench. Do not damage driveshaft when servicing on workbench. Ensure driveline and components are reference marked to prevent driveline imbalance.

- Place shift lever in neutral.
- Raise vehicle off ground and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Mark flange yoke on front drive. Its recommended to use paint for reference marks. Never damage driveshaft flange and companion flange on front drive.
- Remove driveshaft with center supporting bracket from crossmember and from transmission or transfer case.
- Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
- Torque driveline to center supporting bracket bolts and nuts to 50 ft. lbs.
