Vehicle: 2000 Plymouth Neon 2.0 L4 GAS

Automatic Transaxle

Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove air cleaner resonator.
Remove transmission control module mounting screws.
Move transmission control module to provide access to top starter mounting bolt.
Remove top bolt attaching starter to transmission housing.
Raise and support vehicle.
Remove battery positive cable nut from starter and remove cable.
Disconnect push on solenoid connector. Unlock the red locking tab and compress lock to release the connector.
Remove the bottom bolt attaching starter to transmission housing.
Remove starter from vehicle.

Disconnect battery ground cable.
Loosen but do not remove alternator adjustment nut.
Raise and support vehicle with front wheels turned fully to rightside.
Remove plastic lower splash shield.
Disconnect alternator field circuit wiring connector. Push red locking tab to release.
