Import Compressor Service -> Nippondenso Compressor -> Compressor Clutch, Replace

- Remove shaft nut or bolt, Fig. , with aid of spanner wrench.
- Remove pressure plate using pressure plate remover.
- Remove shims from shaft.
- Remove rotor (pulley) retaining snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers.
- Remove rotor (pulley) by gently tapping it with plastic hammer. Some compressors may require a jaw puller.
- Disconnect stator lead wires from compressor housing.
- Remove stator retaining snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers, then remove stator from compressor housing.

- Remove rear underside panel.
- Clamp coolant hoses and disconnect mounting clamps.
- Drain engine coolant into suitable container.
- Remove mounting bolts and housing.
- Remove thermostat.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Connect and twist thermostat into place using assembly air tool No. 9627, or equivalent.
- Install new seal.
- Torque housing mounting bolts to 88 inch lbs.
- Torque drain plug to 44-133 inch lbs.
