Brake System Bleed
Two technicians are needed to bleed the brake system. Brake pedal operation must be very slow. Keep brake fluid reserve tank full to prevent air from entering the system during the bleeding procedure.
- Connect ABS check connector diagnosis terminal to terminal No. 6. Connector is located beside driver side seat heater unit.
- Start engine, then after ABS warning lamp goes out, depress brake pedal within 0.5 seconds.
- Check entire brake system for fluid leaks.

- Remove master cylinder from vehicle.
- Remove cylinder pin, Fig. .
- Push piston inward, then remove snap ring.
- Apply pressure to piston assembly while Inserting a small screwdriver into window of piston retainer and raise piston retainer latch, Fig. .
- Remove primary and secondary piston assemblies. Do not disassemble pistons. if disassembled, the spring settings will change.
- Inspect master cylinder inside diameter to piston clearance, Service limit is not to exceed 0.043 inch.
