However, on most applications, compressor clutch components can be serviced without removing compressor or recovering refrigerant from system. If refrigerant recovery becomes necessary, refer to for procedure.
To prevent serious internal compressor damage, when removing or installing clutch components, never apply pressure directly to the compressor shaft. Always use a suitable shaft protector.

- Remove cooling fans with cooling fan shroud.
- Remove radiator outlet hose from radiator and water pump housing.
- Disconnect lower transaxle oil cooler line from radiator.
- Disconnect A/C discharge hose from condenser block. Cap or tape off A/C discharge hose to prevent system contamination.

- Remove oil filler tube.
- Disconnect electrical connector from A/C compressor high pressure cutoff switch.
- Remove compressor hose assembly bolt from compressor.
- Remove compressor hose assembly seal washers.
