  • Connect SCS service connector to service check connector under glove compartment, Fig. .
  • Turn ignition switch on, but do not start engine.
  • Record blinking frequency of ABS indicator light. Blinking frequency indicates diagnostic trouble code. Memory of diagnostic trouble code is erased if connector is disconnected from ABS control unit.

Pushrod Clearance

Master cylinder pushrod-to-piston clearance must be checked and adjusted before installing master cylinder.

  • Using pushrod adjustment gauge tool No. 07JAG-SD40100, or equivalent, adjust bolt so top of it is flush with end of master cylinder piston, Fig. .
  • Install master cylinder rod seal between pushrod bolt adjustment gauge and brake booster.
  • Without disturbing position of adjusting bolts, install gauge upside down on booster and torque nuts to 11 ft. lbs.
