- Obtain the vehicle owners radio theft protection code prior to disconnecting the battery ground cable, if equipped.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
- Remove the fuel fill cap to release fuel tank pressure.
- On models less fuel filter service bolt, place a shop towel over the banjo bolt at top of fuel filter. Slowly loosen the banjo bolt one complete turn. When loosening the banjo bolt, use a backup wrench to hold the fuel filter in position.

- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove wheel nuts and front wheels.
- Drain transmission fluid and reinstall drain plug using a new washer. Its not required to drain transmission fluid if lefthand driveshaft is removed.
- Lift up locking tab on spindle nut then remove nut.
- Remove self-locking nut and flange bolt.
