Do not allow fluid level in master cylinder to fall below " MIN" mark during bleeding. Do not fill reservoir above " MAX" level.

  • Raise and support vehicle.
  • Ensue all pipe and hose connections are secure with no signs of leakage.
  • Ensure fluid level in brake reservoir is at "MAX" level.
  • Attach bleed tube to front passenger side brake caliper bleed screw, then submerge tube end into suitable container containing brake fluid.
  • Apply pressure to brake pedal several times, then apply steady pressure.

  • Switch ignition off.
  • Operate brake pedal approximately 30 times. Pedal travel will increase slightly and reduced resistance will be felt as pressure decreases.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, press brake pedal four more times to ensure all pressure is evacuated from system.
  • Position cloth under accumulator to catch any fluid spillage.
  • Remove accumulator and discard O-ring.
  • Reverse procedure to install.

Hand-Brake Adjustment

  • Ensure hand-brake lever is fully released.
  • Raise and support rear of vehicle.
  • Tighten brake shoe adjusting bolt until brake drum is locked, then back off adjusting bolt 11/2 turns.
  • Ensure brake drum is free to rotate.
  • Lower vehicle.
  • Inspect hand-brake operation. Hand brake should be fully engaged in three clicks. If not, then cable requires adjustment.
  • Remove switch panel from center console.
  • Remove hand-brake lever boot from center console.
  • Rotate adjuster counterclockwise to increase cable tension or clockwise to decrease cable tension.
