The MIL will illuminate to indicate that a system fault has been detected. The MIL will blink simultaneously with the red Light Emitting Diode (LED) on the Electronic Control Module (ECM). Following diagnosis and repair of all system faults, reset the MIL lamp. The DTCs can be cleared by placing the ignition switch in the off position. This lamp will be illuminated when the ignition switch is placed in the on position as a bulb check. If the lamp remains lit or lights during vehicle operation, a problem in the anti-lock brake/traction control system is indicated. When the lamp is lit, place the ignition switch in the off position, then restart the engine. If the lamp remains lit, the system must be serviced. The basic brake system will remain functional. After servicing the system, proceed as follows:
