- Support propeller shaft in a horizontal position that is aligned with base plate of a press.
- Place universal joint so that lower ear of shaft yoke is supported on a 29mm (1.125 inch) socket.
- In order to remove lower bearing cap from yoke ear proceed as follows:
- Place U-Joint Bearing Separator J 9522 - 3 or equivalent on open horizontal bearing cap.
- Press lower bearing cap out of yoke ear. This process shears nylon injected ring on lower bearing cap.
