Fuel System Pressure Relief

  • On 2003-06 models, remove fuel pump fuse No. 2 from engine compartment fuse box.
  • On 1999-02 models, remove fuel pump fuse No. 32 from the instrument panel fuse box.
  • On all models, start the engine and run until it stalls.
  • Turn the ignition Off.
  • Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  • Install the fuel pump fuse.

Removal & Installation

Do not smoke or allow an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel system related components. The highly flammable vapor mixtures may ignite, resulting in serious personal injury.
