Do not remove pressure cap while engine is running or when engine is still warm.
- Remove engine drain plug at right front of engine, to drain coolant from radiator, then open draincock at lower part of radiator. Ensure coolant level is below thermostat housing.
- Disconnect lower radiator hose at thermostat housing using Snap On Tool No. HCP10, or equivalent, then remove two water inlet housing attaching bolts.
- Remove water inlet and thermostat as an assembly, then remove and discard O-ring.

Never use cans to charge into high pressure side of system (compressor discharge port) or into system at high temperature, as high system pressure transferred into charging may cause it to explode.
- Attach center hose from manifold gauge set to refrigerant dispensing manifold. Turn refrigerant manifold valves completely counterclockwise to open fully, remove protective caps from refrigerant manifold.
