- Connect manifold gauge set to high and low sides of system.
- Start engine and allow to run at 1500 RPM, then activate air conditioner.
- Set blower switch to "HI," and temperature lever to "COOL."
- Open all windows and doors, then position dry bulb thermometer in cool air outlet and psychrometer (combination dry/wet bulb thermometer) near evaporator inlet.
- On Esteem and Swift models, ensure high pressure gauge reading is between 200-227 psi.

- Place front wheels in straight-ahead position.
- Turn ignition to Lock and remove key, then disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove Air Bag and "IG" fuses from junction/fuse box, Figs. through , located under lefthand side of instrument panel.
- Remove lefthand upper steering column cap, then unlock and disconnect driver's air bag module yellow connector.
- Open glove compartment door, then push stoppers on lefthand and righthand sides and remove glove compartment.
- Disconnect passenger's air bag yellow connector.
- Allow 90 seconds for SDM...
