- Remove air mix control rod from control linkage.

Engine Coolant
Before adding or replacing engine coolant, ensure product compatibility with the system being serviced. If using orange silicate-free coolant, do not mix with green silicated coolant. If mixed, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result.

Air Mix Control Cable
Heater valve cable should always be adjusted whenever air mix control cable has been disconnected.
- Disconnect air mix control cable from air mix control arm and clamp, then set temperature control lever to Max Heat.
- Turn air mix control arm, Fig. , connect end of cable to control arm.
- Gently slide cable housing back from end enough to take up any slack in cable but not enough to make control lever move, then snap cable housing into clamp.
