- Remove air cleaner assembly.
- Disconnect electrical connector, then remove recovery and windshield washer fluid reservoir assembly.
- Remove two acoustic cover retaining screws in blower motor area.
- Cut acoustic cover between five clip lands, Fig. . Retain piece of acoustic cover for reassembly.
- Remove cooling tube from motor.
- Remove blower motor to case attaching screws.
- Remove blower motor from case.
- Reverse procedure install.

The engine cooling fan system consists of two electric cooling fans and three fan relays. The PCM controls the relays that operate both fans together at low or high speeds.
To operate the fans at low speed the PCM provides a ground path for the Cooling Fan No. 1 relay. This allows current to flow through both cooling fans in a series circuit to ground.
