A/C Compressor Clutch Coil
- Verify battery is at full charge.
- Connect suitable ammeter, set on 0-10 scale, to clutch coil terminal.
- Install suitable voltmeter, set on 0-20 scale, with clip leads measuring voltage across battery and A/C clutch.
- Ensure A/C control is in A/C mode and blower at low speed, then start engine and let idle.
- A/C clutch should engage immediately and clutch voltage should be within two volts of battery voltage. If A/C clutch does not engage, inspect fuse.
- A/C clutch coil current draw is 2.0-4.15 amper...

Inspect coolant level, drive belt tension, vacuum line connections, radiator air flow and fan operation. Start engine and allow to warm up to normal temperature.
Maximum Heater Output
Engine coolant is provided to heater system by two 5/8 inch inside diameter heater hoses. With engine idling at normal operating temperature, set control to maximum heat, floor and high blower setting. Install a test thermometer, inspect air temperature coming from floor outlets, refer to Fig. .
