- Disconnect brake hose at brake caliper, then cap brake line.
- Reverse procedure to install.
Overhaul
- Remove caliper assembly as outlined under "Replacement."
- Remove lockpin, bushing, caliper support, guide pin and lockpin boots as outlined in Figs. and .
- Remove boot ring using a suitable flat blade screwdriver.

- Remove caliper as outlined in "Brake Pad Service."
- Inspect disc surface for grooves, cracks and rust.
- Tighten rotor to hub.
- Place a dial indicator approximately 1 inch from outer circumference of brake rotor, Fig. .
- Measure brake rotor runout and compare measurements to those listed in "Disc Brake Specifications" chart.
- If runout of rotor is equal to or exceeds limit specified, change phase of rotor and hub then, measure runout again noting following:
- Before removing brake rotor, chalk both sides of wheel stud on side at which runout is greatest.
