- Remove caliper mounting pins/bolts without disconnecting brake hose.
- On J30 and Q45 models, if removing rear rotors, remove adjuster hole plug and back off parking brake shoe adjuster.
- On all models, free rotor from hub by tapping using suitable soft face driver.

Disassemble
- Bend stopper cap claws outward.
- Lightly push piston into cylinder bore and remove valve stopper, Fig. .
- Remove pistons from master cylinder. If pistons are stuck in bore, apply air pressure.
- Remove reservoir tank.
Inspection
- Inspect master cylinder for scratches and pin holes.
- Inspect piston for deformation and scratches on piston cups.
