Turn ignition switch to Off position.
Connect CONSULT-II, or suitably programmed scan tool, to Data Link Connector (DLC).
Start engine.
Drive vehicle at more than 19 mph for at least one minute.
Stop vehicle with engine running and follow tool manufacturer's instructions.
Less Scan Tool
Drive vehicle at more than 19 mph for at least one minute.
Turn ignition switch to Off position.
On J30, 1997-99 I30, Q45 and 1999 G20 models, ground Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 4 using suitable harness.

- Open bleeder valve, drain fluid by depressing brake pedal until master cylinder is empty.
- Repeat previous steps for second circuit.
- Remove brake line flare and master cylinder mounting nuts.
- Remove clevis pin, Fig. .
- Remove mounting nuts and brake booster.
