Disassemble
- Remove master cylinder from vehicle.
- Remove reservoir cover and diaphragm. Discard old brake fluid in reservoir.
- Inspect cover and diaphragm. Replace if cut, cracked or deformed.
- Remove fluid level switch and proportioning valve assembly, if equipped.
- Depress primary piston and remove lock ring.
- Plug primary fluid outlet (outlet nearest to cowl when master cylinder is installed), then apply compressed air into secondary fluid outlet...

Removal
- Remove fluid from reservoir using a syringe.
- On models equipped with anti-lock brakes, proceed as follows:
- Remove three-way joint attaching bolt and position joint aside.
- Remove two brake pipe flare nuts, then disconnect brake pipes from master cylinder. Plug lines.
- On models not equipped with anti-lock brakes, remove three flare nuts and disconnect three brake fluid lines from master cylinder assembly. Plug lines.
- On all models, disconnect fluid level switch electrical connector.
