Removal
- Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assemblies.
- Loosen parking brake, then remove rear brake drums.
- Remove tension pins by pushing retainer springs while turning.
- Lower brake shoe assembly being careful not to damage wheel cylinder dust cover, then remove lower return spring.
- Disconnect parking brake cable from parking brake lever, then remove brake shoe assembly.
- Remove upper return spring, self-adjuster lever and spring, then separate brake shoes...

- Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assemblies.
- Remove banjo bolt and disconnect brake hose.
- Remove mounting bolts and caliper.
- Reverse procedure to install.
Overhaul
Disassemble
- Remove pad spring.
- Place suitable wooden block or shop rag in caliper opposite piston, then carefully remove piston from caliper by applying air pressure through brake line hole with OSHA-approved 30 psi nozzle.
