- Remove glove compartment as outlined in "Heater Core, Replace."
- Remove mounting bolt, screws and glove compartment frame.
- Remove evaporator core lid and filter assembly.
- Remove filter from assembly.
- Reverse procedure to install.
Civic
- Open glove compartment, remove stops and hang compartment down.
- Remove filter lid from blower unit.
- Pull first dust and pollen filter out, then slide second filter to lefthand side and remove.
- Remove filter from housing.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Monitor coolant temperature using suitable thermometer and observe cooling fan operation.
- Cooling fan should begin to operate when coolant temperature reaches approximately 191-197°F and fan should stop running when coolant temperature drops to approximately 182-188°F. When coolant temperature is more than 220°F, the condenser fan goes into operation until coolant temperature drops to approximately 214°F.
