- Inspect pulley bearing play and drag by rotating the pulley by hand, replace pulley if noisy or has excessive play/drag.
- Inspect stator by setting ohmmeter to X1000 ohm range and verify that there is continuity between stator connector and A/C compressor body.

- Warm engine and run at a constant 1500 RPM.
- Set fan switch to 4th position.
- Turn Air Conditioning switch to ON position.
- Set RECIRCULATE mode.
- Set temperature control lever to MAX COLD.

- Close all doors and windows.
- Measure ambient temperature, and high and low pressure side readings.
